Happy Friday!

I was happy to learn that I made the top ten of the WOW! Women on Writing Creative Nonfiction Q2 contest. It’s a website that I respect and enjoy a lot, so to do that well gives me the happies.

You can read the essay here, and also yes, I need to update my headshot to better reflect my hair color and the amount of wrinklage on my faceplace.

I’ve now been fortunate enough to be published in The Sun Magazine twice. Did you know that they have a podcast of their magazine, and that there are broadcasts specifically about the Readers Write section? You can listen to my first note by going here. My letter begins at 14:24 mark. Soon they will also be recording the Readers Write section from the latest issue I was published in.

Take a listen and then do go and listen to the rest of the magazine. It’s some of the best writing out there.

I’m pondering some upgrades and changes to this website which I will be sharing over the next few weeks. Fortunately, I have two nine-year-olds who can help with all the technical elements while I make content decisions and use other words that sound writerly.

Meanwhile, spring is trying to sneak up on us, so I’m off crack open the windows and air things out. Proverbially.
