Draft One Finished

At 1:59 this afternoon, I finished the first draft of my novel. Really it’s an eighth first draft. It took 3 years of writing, not writing, listening, hitting dead ends, growing, changing, and learning to write at the level this story needs. There’s much left to do. But this is a good day.

How’s everyone doing tonight? It’s great to be here at The Chuckle Patch, D.C.’s second funniest place after Kevin McCarthy’s leadership training sessions.

I’m the Equal Rights Amendment. Maybe you’ve heard of me — I used to be splashed across magazine covers and the chests of empowered, braless women across the country. I was the life of both parties. I couldn’t walk down a congressional aisle without someone trying to ratify me, if you know what I mean.

Night 8 of “If Hallmark Made Hanukkah Holiday Movies Starring Adam Sandler”

MY DINNER WITH ROB SCHNEIDER

During Christmas Eve dinner at a Chinese restaurant, old friends Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider (playing themselves) engage in philosophical and occasionally self-loathing discussion of such topics as: the sacred and secular merits of a potential exegetical analysis of Deuce Bigalow’s Biblical themes, Bernie Sander’s theoretical yarmulke collection, and how they could have a lovely time with their kosher chicken and their electric blankets.
